One.. why is it most Apple computers today have no optical drive? If some thing happen how are you to reinstall the OS like on you MacBook Pro? Say some thing happen and you cannot boot into OS or the OS get corrupted.

Two.. Why do Apple computers do not use BIOS like other computers.

Any other computer use BIOS even chromebooks.

1) opticals; Today, the current form-factor is so thin, the optical just will not fit. There was a time the Slot-Loading form did have an inboard CD/DVD

2) Macs use a micro-kernel in place of the Bios. Apple is not the sole platform to avoid a BIOS; Solaris, CGI, and the PowerPC did so also. Using an \etc\* folder with files allows ANY hardware to be added w/o the necessity of a BIOS update.

There are pro & con considerations to both choices - - there's no single right answer
