UK politicians want to ban PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC component scalping

They could just ban all Evil...but alas, the wind choose to only go after few windmills...

edit: please remember that UK choose to allow any toilet to be used by any "gender" and made that into a law. The effect was: There is only one bathroom now.

I am firmly against price controls. Would some sort of measure directly against scalpers on auction sites even work? One that doesn't harm genuine businesses or implement price controls which are a terrible path to go down. I am not so sure it would. We already have terrible trouble with censorship not just within the media but boycotts on people trying to earn a living.

The best way would be for parents to be sensible and rational and simply not pay over the odds for something in the first place for their spoiled brats. If they really want to stop the practice then don't be a voluntary participant in it you hypocrites.

Your kids may be disappointed for a short period of time and may not get that shiny new games console until the first quarter of the new year but so what? At least your principles would be intact if you really are against the scalpers and you would not be seen as hypocrites whinging about the free market and the laws of supply and demand in order to buy your children an overpriced console they probably don't deserve and when they should be concentrating on other more important things that will get them far in life.

And you know this how? Interviewed and investigated every person in gov't and then in the private sector to check it out? Didn't think so.
Examine any reasonably large group of people, you will find honest ones, dishonest ones, smart ones, dumb ones, you get the idea.
With corporations, they are obligated to provide for the shareholders, regardless of public or societal harm. I have no doubt (based on their history) that if they had their way we'd all be indentured servants with our children doing the modern day equivalent of working in the coal mines.

The same people defending the State are always the same ones who complained about coal mines being shut down and now complaining that private sector companies are modern day coal mines. Which is it to be?

As far as history is concerned, governments are responsible for the mass slaughter of hundreds of millions of innocent people. Private corporations are there to serve their customers and that includes the shareholders who are owners of the private corporations. If they don't serve their customers and make products and services they want to buy that are beneficial for them well then they go out of business.

Governments on the other hand don't actually do, make or produce anything of value at all on their own. Government is a tyranny that uses force and theft against its citizens, and businesses, and steals from their labour and productivity. A lot of the work you do you are doing for nothing. You are a slave. You are giving that money directly to government. But you are complaining about people who voluntarily agreed to pay a higher price to get a games console for their spoilt children. That was their choice of their own free will and they must have thought it was a good deal at the time.

Gus, you're missing the point. It's not that they can't get the consoles, it's the rage they'll get from their kids and/or grandkids come Dec 25. (You Promised!!! You @%#&*^~!!!!)

So you're saying that thousands, possibly millions of children will have a chance to mature this Christmas and learn that they won't get everything they want?

I think you might have misinterpreted what I was trying to express. I will admit that I am often times not clear enough and assume people are on the same wave length as me.

What I was attempting to relate that politicians might not always be able to be proactive in watching out for every possible issue in their given country. Like how I am busy with my assigned projects but there are times that people bring a bug to my attention and I can work to fix it.

On a side note, I do wish companies would do more to prevent bots from buying all of the product and end up screwing over real people trying to buy it online.
Ah, I understand now. Well, these politicians tend to show up for work when they feel like it and the rest of the time they're fundraising for their next election or they're on "vacation". I made up a good definition of politician because of this:
politican (n) - Any person who takes two years to make a decision that would take the average person two days.
These companies have no real motivation to make the expenditures necessary to stop the bots because they make the same profit no matter what and in a capitalistic society, that's all that matters, eh?

This might be true in the USA, but it's not true in most other Western nations. Having a broken governmental system that's full of outright crooks would probably have given me the same outlook. In most Western nations, the taxes we pay go to things that make society better as a whole. I realise that in the USA, taxes go to one of three places, the Pentagon, the pockets of billionaires (through government "stimulus" cheques) and into the pockets of the politicians themselves. I don't blame you for feeling this way because they want you to feel this way, they've engineered the system to make you feel this way. They want your expectations to be low because otherwise you'd expect them to actually do something that they can't have that.

When people feel that they have no recourse and that their government doesn't give a rat's posterior about them, they tend to do one of two things. They either fall into depressed apathy or they become activists. A democratic government is supposed to be NOTHING like you described and it's terrible that your government has made you feel this way. Keep in mind however, that it's not just the government because they're just doing what their rich donors want them to do. Those rich donors are the private sector that you're defending. They want you to think that the government is bad because the government is the only thing that outranks them and this weakens that government.

Those crooks had a real scare when Bernie Sanders was rising. Did you notice that the US corporate media started attacking him left and right the more popular he got (and it was ALL BS). Then the people did what the elites wanted them to and selected Joe Biden, the corporate puppet. That's why the media loved him and Pete, because they knew that those two could be controlled. They knew damn well that Bernie couldn't be controlled and that scared the crap out of them.

The USA is run in such a way that it maximises the confusion to the average person. Whenever you see these people on the "news" giving their opinion, always remind yourself that these people are themselves millionaires and don't give a rat's posterior about you either. They don't want you to advance because then it means less of the pie for them. I've never seen a country so consumed by greed as the USA after 2010.
