Unable to Install windows XP

NOT ABLE TO INSTALL WINDOWS XP

System configuraton:

-160 gb hd
-512 ram

Steps:
------
-Insert the XP cd
-display set up is inspecting your computer hardware configuration
-display blue screen
-display windows setup: copy all files
-windows xp professional set up
for set up ENTER, Repair R, Quit p3
- Press Enter for set up
- Agreement
-To set up press - Partition 'C' or Delete 'D'
- Press 'C' for partion
- To contune press 'C'
-Selected format partion using NTFS file sys (quick)
-To format drive press 'F'
- setup copies files to the windows instalation folder
message: 'your computer will reboot in 12 mits'
-Restart the computer
AGAIN GO BACK TO set up is inspecting your computer hardware configuration
and starts again WINDOWS SET UP

could any one can help in fixing this problem to install xp on my system

Note: I am not seeing Hard Drive (HDD) under Main, when I login safe mode, Under boot hard drive is there


After coping files it ask to take out CD from the drive. Reboots and display the following message:
Windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem. Could not read from the selected boot disk. Check boot path and disk hardware.
Please check the windws documentation about hardware disk configuration and your hardware reference manuals for additional info.
 
Do not select the "Quick" partition process.
Select the full partition setup. This can take 30 to 90 minutes depending upon the size of your drive.
