Unknown Device

  1. In my device manager I have an "Unknown Device" and I have no idea what it could be. The only hardware slotted into the motherboard are the sound and graphics cards, which are both installed properly with their drivers, and they both work properly too without errors.

I think it might somehow be related to my failing USB (all USB slots on my motherboard are dead, even new ones that I put in, USB controler chip is dead or something).

Does anyone have any ideas what it could be? Thanks.

You could take alook at the details of the device and look up the PCI or USB IDs.

It says its on the PCI bus. So I guess the PCI bus is knackered along with the USB. I had a PCI soundcard which had constant problems when the USB problems arose, since then I put in a soundcard in a riser slot that came with the mobo and sound worked fine.
I guess its back to the manufactures. Thanks for the help.
