    No that would not work. The CPU you listed is a socket 775, while your current Celeron is a socket 478. (all northwood cores are 478)

    Trying to find a CPU that will work witha 478 is going to be hard, I would check ebay. Post here before buying so that we can check to make sure your chipset supports it. (It will most of the time)

    What model Dell do you have? Can we have the service tag? May be able to look and see what the highest CPU that system can handle would be with that info.
