I'm trying to upgrade from my i3 processor in my Acer Timline X 4820TG.
I understand most of you will say it can not be done but i disagree.
I'm looking to put an i5 in it as the new ones have it. Sandy bridge or not.
Any help from experts will be appreciated.

Do a search for "laptop non integrated motherboard". Some do have sockets for processors rather than having them integrated into the motherboard. So it might be possible. Can't find a picture of the motherboard from that model so it is hard to say.
