UPS Problem

Hi everyone!

I've been noticing a strange behaviour from my UPS when playing Call Of Duty 4. Sometimes, during playing, the UPS just starts beeping frantically. As soon as I quit to the menu, the beeping stops. This has also occurred when playing NFS Most Wanted a couple of times. However, it's most noticeable while playing COD 4.

Is it some problem with UPS. It's rated at 360W (max).

What type of UPS system do you have, and hold old is it? Is it wired to your computer with the serial cable? When this happened to me, I had to change the battery in my UPS unit, but I don'y use the serial cable or the software that came with it.

The UPS is over 4 years old.

I live in India so all appliances operate at 220V.

ALARM:

Alarm Battery Backup - Slow beeping sound (about 0.47 Hz)
Alarm Battery Low - Rapid beeping sound (about 1.82Hz)
Alarm Overload - Continue beeping sound

Can't exactly figure out the difference between the last 2.

Battery low creates a fast beeping sound...overload creates a continuous beeping sound...?
A fast beeping sound is a beeping sound that occurs rapidly, I don't know how else to explain it.
A continuous beeping sound is a sound in the tone of a beep that does not stop...I hope that's plain enough.

Thanks for that. Then I guess its Alarm Overload. Do I need to change my UPS then?

You should be able to change the battery inside it...
If not, you'll need to replace it.
