so it is ok then, thank you for your helpi have just installed a samsung sp2504c 250gb 8mb sata internal hard drive + installed windows xp home edition onto it. i went to my computer, + under where it says devices with removable storage it has a picture of a box with a cd + says vrmhoem_en (d:). when i double click on it it takes me to a screen that says: welcome to microsoft windows xp. it says what do you want to do? + has the following options: install windows xp, learn more about the setup process, install optional windows components, perform additional tasks, check system compatibility. does anyone know what this is + if i need? if not how do i delete it as when i right click it it doesnt have delete. also when i check local disc(c:) under hard drives in my computer it says: total space: 232gb, free space: 231gb. i havent downloaded anything or installed anything yet, + its a 250gb so why does it say this?....i would appreciate some help as i dont know whats happened or what to do......thank you in advance

In Windows 1GB=1024MB but manufactures rate drives as 1GB=1000MB
So a drive will seem smaller in windows don't worry this is normal.I have a "250 GB" drive and here's what windows says about it's Capicty 250,056,704,000 bytes and 232GB when it translates that into GB.
