USB 2.0 vs USB 1.0

  1. i have a USB 2.0 port on my computer. will my USB 1.0 hub work when i connect it to the said USB 2.0 port? and will USB 2.0 interface devices work when connected to the USB hub?

    USB 2.0 will run USB 1.1 devices as they were origionally designed, and most USB 2.0 devices will run in a USB 2.0 port(at 1.1 speeds) There are some exceptions to this however, check the documentation for the device.

    In this case, your port is 2.0, your hub is 1.1, so using the hub will reduce the performance to 1.1 for anything you use in that hub. To answer your question, yes most will probably work, but at reduced performance.

    The 1.0 hub will work. but all the USB 2.0 devices will operate at the reduced speed of the USB 1.0
