USB Connection Problem

some more info would be helpful. did this just start after the usb port had been working for a while? or is this a newly built computer? assuming that this just started it could either be a problem with your device, (unless it is happening with ALL usb devices you try.) or it could be the usb hub controller on the mobo is going bad, or it could be a problem with the voltages on the +5V rail of your power supply which powers the USB. you can check this by downloading speedfan and checking that the voltages on your +5V rail are in spec and stable.

Thanks for your help. I checked out another tread and managed to get the answer I was looking for. I went into Devide Manager and disable the Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller and it seemed to resolved my issue. I still don't understand why it was freezing my computer in the first place. Any helpful explaination is much appreciated. Thank you.
