hi people.(sorry double post, not sure where right spot is)
usb on my pc has always been troublesome. i cant use 2 usb devices at same time. and also, one usb always crashing pc with BSOD. so i never use it.
now i bought a fast track pro m audio audio interface which connects via usb.
so i could use pro tools. but when i use it with pro tools, pc just freezes. and i have to turn pc off via finger on the power button for few secs.
ive uninstalled now. it crashed like 8 times in one day.
so when i use the usb soundcard, pc crashes. even tho i have all the right specs required by the soundcard and pro tools m-powered software.
im ready to swithc to mac. ive had problems like this for years. its just not good for music production. i have a PCI echo mia soundcard installed too, and i even tried disabling its drivers.......and i tweaked windows as suggested by pro tools manual.
nothing worked.
m-audio say it sounds like an IRQ sharing issue.
can anyone think of anything to try?
thanks in advance.
i have 8 usb ports on my pc, but can only use one, and some devices just totally crash the pc every time.
i think my power supply is probably too weak too. but the usb device should jsut stop working right? not freeze the pc..............
cheers
