Hey all,

I'm having an issue with my toshiba usb drive. When I plug the USB into any of my USB ports on my pc, the pc will recognise the USB but as soon as I go to access the USB drive on my pc an error message comes up. It goes, "This device has not been formatted. Would you like to format it now?" The USB drive has some irreplacable files on it and the last thing I want to do is format it. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Are you using a power adapter for the enclosure, or only the USB power cable? If cable only, how long is the cable? This problem is common with units without a power adapter.

The drive has been corrupted such that Windows doesn't think it's formatted any longer. See [post=720762]Troubleshoot: Windows Won't Recognize Your USB Hard Drive[/post]
> Refer to the information towards the end of that post as you will have to attempt using data recovery tools to get back your file/folder data
