USB keyboard not working during post

Can't get usb keyboard to work during post on asus P5Q SE PLUS

i cant get the keyboard to work during post at all am currently using a ps/2 keyboard in bios and stuff. I have tried to put it on legacy support and still nothing please help.

isnt there an option to enable USB keyboard support in the BIOS. ?

not from what i can see no option in the bios.

Are you certain? Most all recent BIOS i've seen have something about Enabling USB Legacy support

I had the same problem. Found the same setting sugested by LookinAround and that solved my problem. Mine is tiltled 'USB Keyboard Function' in the Integrated Peripherals section.

in bios i put it on legacy usb support and still nothing and i have looked thru every setting in the bios with no luck.

Can you try another USB keyboard if only to see what would happen? If you have trouble with the second one as well, maybe there is something wrong with the BIOS' USB driver. Flashing the BIOS should repair it.

I was going to say " does the keyboard work", his USB sockets may be faulty, does the BIOS have an option for disabling/enabling USB, i know some of the older ones did ?
