USB storage devices showing up in 'Drive Management' but not in 'My Computer

Hi,

I recently had this problem on my computer. I was using my new usb on my computer when all of a sudden I realised that my USB is not being detected in my computer. I have to use the computer management to open my USB but smoetimes even this doesn't always help. Could someone tell me how to resolve this problem of mine.

Open my computer and look at the number of drives, what drives do you have, how many and what drive letters are assigned?

dude I have 2 drive C D
1 dvd E
1 CD G
I tried assigning a letter to the USB from the disk manager but it is not permanaet and still doesn't show my USB on my computer

make sure the service is at least Manual or Auto.
Admin Tools->services->Removable Storage
it depends upon RPC running also

you may also need Portable Media Serial Number Service (mine is Manual)
