Hi guys... I had a PS start shutting off, which eventually died on me completely. So I ordered a new PS and replaced it with no luck - while everything turns on, the system refuses to boot (black screen). Im nervous that my crappy PS mustve overloaded and killed my HD, and was wondering if its possible to throw it in my older Win 98SE PC? The thing is, the newer HD is a 120g 5400rpm with Win XP installed, and I dont wanna screw up the formatting or lose anything. Can you guys point me in the right direction? Thank you all so much, I can see you help alot of people here - and its appreciated.

Windows 98 can read the XP disk if you drop it in as a slave to Offload files/data , as long as the drive is formatted Fat 32.You won't be able to Boot to it though. Also there is a program I recall that can read the NTFS either from 98 or from a dos prompt for file copying .You can do a Google.
