Did I totally luck out??? Ive been seeing how far I can OC my XP 1700. Ive got the bus set at 320mhz and the chip is running at 1760 mhz, POSTing as an XP 2100. Temp is a steady 116* F according to the BIOS. I noticed in the BIOS that the memory default setting is CL 2. It gives options for 2.5 and 3. I thought only high end RAM would run at CL2. So far its running flawlessly. I also installed larger heatsinks and fans on the mobo and video card.

I can run my crappy ram at CL2, it just won't OC above stock. At all.

ah ha - but what are your other latency times?
Running a CL2 is one thing - but running at 5-2-2-CL2 is another
