Verizon CEO reports strong growth in second quarter

    Verizon has posted their financial earnings for the second quarter of this year, showing a rise of 1.9% in revenue, but net income fell 2.8% year over year. The carrier reported revenue of $26.9 billion, up from $26.4 billion and a net income of $5 billion, from $5.2 billion. These figures are adjusted to account for the acquisition of AllTel in January.
