Vertical Lines Before PC Crashes...

computer crashes with vertical lines on screen ,when i play games.could it be that it is over heating/or graphics card issues???im a noob and need help..

Hey I've just been searchin around the net for ideas on this problem im having and it sounds like the guy up obove has the same thing i do. These verticle purple lines apear on the monitor, and i cant click anywhere or crt alt del or type anything and after a little while the comp restarts. I can still see the mouse move around allright and my music keeps playing so im quite sure the problem is graphics card related. My comp specs are windows XP, 2.0 amd processor, 128 mb geforce 5700 series graphics card, 512 ram. And it runs really well this is the first problem i have ever had with it. Could someone please help me. Also i have gotten the latest drivers for the grafix card.

Have you checked if the graphics card fan is working (if it has one)?
