Video and camera (all-in-one) for a Disc Jockey?

Ok, I'm Christmas shopping for the hubby.

He is a mobile DJ and has been thinking of getting a all-in-one camera/video for a while.

Was thinking of the Flip but not sure about the quality or storage or anything...

He would be recording under LOUD music, many times low light with those octopus lights going, disco ball, etc..

Pictures would be taken, in low light, high light, fluorescent light, etc.

What we have found, is the recorders, can't handle the volume and destroy any chance at being able to understand what music is being played back, it plays back very staticy/scratchy. They are also crappy quality as far as being able to see whats going on.

I am a big Wal-mart and Best buy person. Not sure sure of online purchases this late in the game. Any ideas???

From my experience, the mics that are built into cameras are generally always terrible, so you could maybe look for a camera that satisfys your video needs and make sure it has a mic input? to allow you to use a better quality mic as an input?
