Video card dying?

Okey so i been playing all kinds of games on max setting from when i got my pc.
But a few days ago it started to freeze up and give strange red pixel dot looking things all over the screen, so i removed and reinserted my video card.

It would fix the problem and then next day was the same thing, but this time the problem was there as soon as i started my pc as soon as i see something on the display there is some blue vertikale lines and if i go to bios i see green pixel dots all over the screen (same while trying to load windows)

But at this time i got another problem as i start up the pc it starts to give me the "CPU over temperature error!" so i check my temp in the bios and it was up in 100 celcius.

After replacing the terminal paste it manage to get the temperature down to 85-90.
I made sure the cooler is tight on to the CPU.

So my guess would be that my video card broken is broken and therefor is effecting the CPU temperature?

my pc specs are
GeForce 8800GT (i heard its known to over heat or cause high amount of heat)
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.00GHz
Asus P5Q motherboard
