The model you are listing here is the monitor, According to the HP site. What video controller do you have?

Sorry, I don't know about it . If I knew I could have istalled. I have tried all this also -

a) Open Device manager
b) On Device Manager Right click on Yellow triangle with exclamation mark and uninstall it.
c) Delete and reinstall the driver if this did not fix the problem. Reboot your computer.
If you don’t have the driver installation CD which came along with the computer, you can try downloading it from the manufacturer website.

but when I ask for manufacturer's website , I find info only about my monitor.

Have you tried looking on the back of the tower its self. Their should be a sticker with the model number of the computer.

As Cobalt noted above, the model pavilion mx704 is the monitor, not the computer. But here's a tip on how to interpret the cryptic looking string data you supplied. I explain how Interpret and use these strings first followed by "Next steps". The reader is free to jump to "Next steps" if that's what they're most interested in.

Interpreting Windows Hardware ID / Device ID strings

Video Controller (VGA Compatible)PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2562&SUBSYS_57781462&REV_03\3&13C0B0C5&0&10The drivers for this device are not installed.

That long cryptic string we saw in the prior post is the "Device ID". The Device ID lets Windows uniquely identify the device on the computer.

The Device ID contains a substring called the "Hardware ID".
> The Hardware ID (in green, below) - is the string up to the second back slash ("\")
> A "Unique string" (in red) is appended to the Hardware ID so the Device ID for the hardware device identifies it uniquely on a computer

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2562&SUBSYS_57781462&REV_03\3&13C0B0C5&0&10
Example: If you bought two identical WD External Hard Drives, they would have identical Hardware IDs. But Windows must be able differentiate them (they're plugged into different USB ports, each has its own driver data and status code, etc.) So a unique string is appended to each of their Hardware IDs to create a machine unique Device ID for each WD External Drive.

Note the Hardware ID begins with PCI\VEN_8086
> PCI indicates its a PCI attached device (it connects to the computer's PCI bus)
> VEN_8086 means the vendor who manufactured the device has vendor ID= 8086
>>> !! Each PCI device manufacturer is assigned its own worldwide unique Vendor ID !!

You can use the PCI Database to find out the Intel is vendor ID 8086!

Next Steps
Since this is an Intel vga controller, I suggest you try the Intel Driver Update tool. It will check any Intel chipsets plus your Intel vga controller for driver updates. Let us know if that helps

I thank you both for helping me , I think something more is left to be done at first I researched on vendor details

LookinAround maybe able to help you further. But you really do need to figure out the correct model number for your tower. Not the monitor. Goodluck

Thanks , this is the Model number of my computer -
HP Pavilion w1164d Desktop PC

monitor name - hp pavilion mx 704

KIND REGARDS

If you have any problems with LookinArounds drivers. The original driver for this model. Is in post 10. Just click on the link there. All that models original drivers are posted there.

Thank you to both of you (genius) ,the new download link worked , I have done with that , it worked somehow, the system is now not asking for the video controller (VGA COMPATIBALE)
but now there is a new thing happened after this -

yellow color - exclamation mark on Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller

Regards

Try the hp link in Post 10. In this link is the original VGA driver for your model of computer.
Try that but also check in Ctl Pnl->Add/Remove Programs first. (The last install attempt may have left an install entry there). IIf you see an entry for Intel Graphics Controller uninstall it from there first.

Yellow color - exclamation mark on Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller

1. well, the exclamation mark is gone but sometimes it's comes again which means sometimes I can play the video and after restart sometimes I am unable to play the video

when I restart the yellow color - exclamation mark comes and then yellow color - exclamation mark goes
exclamation mark comes and goes after restart (according to it's own wish)

2. but when the video is played then the brightness is too low which means the video can't be played and if it can be played then brightness is too low. Video picture quality is poor.
.................................
3.Please also read -This whole problem raised when I formatted my system , before that I was unable to play MP4 files so I planned to format but there was no brightness issue.
.............................
4.A couple of years before, I gave my computer for service (due to some other fault) and I think he changed the graphic card.
Do you think that the graphic card is changed?? Please guide me.

4. Please let me know the link of hp Post 10

I thank you from the bottom of my heart but I really need your kind help. You have helped me a lot and I have no words to thank you.

Regards.

In this link is the graphics driver that came with your computer. Just scroll down the page till you see sp26359.exe. Then click on it. It will install the original driver for you. But as LookinAround has stated check in Add and Remove in the control pane. To see if you can remove the intel driver you have already installed. Before you install this driver.

Hi !
Good news for both of you (The highly qualified experts).
Problem is no more. I UNINSTALLED TO PREVIOUS DRIVER AND INSTALLED sp26359.exe and my driver got updated without any single error. Video quality is back.

My problem is totally solved. You both are Professionals and helped me step my step. I have no words to thank you.

I wish you Merry xmas and Happy New Year in advance.

Thanks a ton

Kind Regards

Glad to hear the good news!

I have one last curiousity question: Look in Device Manager. What device names are now listed under Display Adapters?

Thank you so much. I deleted that previous driver , I installed
sp26359.exe. from link - http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...s&dlc=en&lc=en&os=228&product=441189&sw_lang=

installation of sp26359.exe started, it was hardly 25% done and a notification came with a written message sp26359.exe won't work , you already have Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller
go to device manager and update your driver ,

I went to device manager and updated , file transfer started from one folder to another folder and then I had to restart

it worked, please , video quality is good as before ,Kindly check the attachment

Question - What device names are now listed under Display Adapters?
Answer - Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller
I am shocked when I already had Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller then why Hp told reccommends sp26359.exe (may previous driver was creating the issue...well, but sp26359.exe was the real thing, which I needed , I guess.

Thanks a ton

Kind Regards
