Video files doesn't play on my computer

Video files doesn't play correctly on my computer with the different types of players I have like Windows Media Player, VLC player, etc. But sound plays in the background. Also I can't open images on my computer with Windows Live photo gallery and other software except with picasa photo viewer.

Hi, Can you state if you have ever been able to watch video files on your pc? Or has this problem just happened?
Can you watch video on Youtube?
Can you check if any drivers are faulty or missing in your 'Device manager'?
