Here is my HJT file. For some reason I cant open my Task Manager, and when I try to run games it says this file is being used by some one else. I did a trend scan that I found the other day on this site and it showed some trojans and I thought they was all tooken care of, but still haveing the same problem.

Thanks in advance. - John

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Your system is infected with a variety of nasties, including the New.net infection.

Click Start/Control Panel/Add/Remove Programs and uninstall: New.net Application or New.net Domains
If neither is listed, download and run this: www.new.net/support/uninstall6_38.exe

Once you`ve done that, go HERE and follow the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT and Ewido logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Regards Howard

I must say Howard, I am amazed at your vast knowledge about viruses and trojans:D

If I ever get one of these, you'll be the first person I ask:)

Regards,

korrupt

Cheers mate.

I wouldn`t say my knowledge was vast by any means.

I just do what I can and keep learning along the way.

Regards Howard :)

Thanks for all the help im starting to do the 4 tools and run safe mode. If you dont hear from me in a few hours call for help :)

Thanks I appreciate the help here it is... My comp is already running better. Also how do I turn the task manager back on?

Edit: Nevermind my taskmanager is working just fine all games playable thanks so much dude your my hero for real.

Please rename HijackThis.exe to HijackThis1991.exe. This is because some malware can hide from HijackThis.exe.

Also, place HJT in it`s own directory, not on the desktop or in a temp folder. An ideal location would be C:\program files\HJT\HijackThis1991.exe

Post a fresh HJT log after doing the above.

Regards Howard :)

You might want to copy and paste these instructions into a notepad file. Then you can have the file open in safe mode, so you can follow the instructions easier.

Turn off system restore.(XP/ME only) See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial56.html

Boot into safe mode, under your normal user name(NOT THE ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT). See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial61.html

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial62.html

Go to add remove programmes in your control panel and uninstall anything to do with(if there).

Viewpoint
Viewpoint Toolbar V35
Viewpoint Manager

Close control panel.

Open your task manager, by holding down the ctrl and alt keys and pressing the delete key.

Click on the processes tab and end process for(if there).

ViewMgr.exe
FotomatDeviceConnect.exe

Close task manager.

Run HJT with no other programmes open(except notepad). Click the scan button. Have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to(if there).
