Virus - Unable to open task manager or perform some tasks

Hi guys, i have been checking a friends computer and know it has a virus as it has changed the background to say that "Your system is infected" in a black box.

I also cannot access the task manager as it says it has been disabled by my administrator

When i try to log on as an administrator in safe mode it asks for a password, which i don't know as it was never set.

I have attached a Hijackthis log
