Vista error loading operating system

    When I start Windows Vista I am getting the "error loading operating system" black screen.

    I do get the Dell BIOS 1.01 and can access the F2 and F12 screens that have the boot options.


    I am not sure what to do, so I haven't messed with any options.


    Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Make sure the boot drive is selected and proper in the bios. The CMOS battery on the motherboard might be bad. Also check to see that the date and time are correct in the bios
