  1. I have created some desktop shortcuts for some internet sites i use quite often i.e. Ebay etc and the site graphics dont appear on the shortcut like it did when i was using XP it just has a generic e symbol for an icon. If properties is opened on the shortcut the site icon graphics is there and correct. Is it possible to use the site's icon on the desktop?

Is this 32bit or 64bit Vista?

    Right click on your Desktop
    Move your pointer over "View"
    Select "Classic Icons"

Let us know if this helped.

To retain your Icons, now right click on the Icon and make it "read only" under the "General" tab.

    Glad it worked for you.
