Vista reinstall?

Hi everyone. My friend has an acer laptop. He wants to replace the hard drive in it because it no longer works because it was dropped. Its got Vista on it an im guessing a serial for it on the bottom of the laptop.

The laptop came with no Vista CD so how would I install it new again on the new hard drive? I know how its all done but how do I get Vista? Can you download it for free an put in your own serial from the laptop or what?

Anyone know anything, give me a shout.

Contact Acer for the Recovery DVD
I'm sure they sell them for extremely discounted prices (ie you already have the key)

Again though thats dumb why didnt Acer just include the Recovery DVD when they sold you the laptop, oh yeah so they could make more money making you pay for something you should get in the first place. If key's were key's and CD's were CD's it would be how everything in real life works but this is the computer world where everyone does what they can to make an extra buck... IE create virus's so there is a need for Virus software? what that happens no way?
