Vista Ultimate Networking Problem

  1. We are running two Dell computers in our office, each using Vista Ultimate. They are on the same workgroup, and I can see both computers on the network. However, when I attempt to access either computer from the other one, I get this message:

    Error code: 0x80070005
    Access is denied.

    I have no problem accessing the XP machines that are on the same network from the Vista machines. Network discovery/file sharing/printer sharing/public folder sharing are on. Password protection is off. Advanced permissions show that everyone is allowed. We use AVG for antivirus, and we have a D-Link router.

    I'm sure it's some simple thing I'm overlooking. Any suggestions?

    did you use the Wizard and set the Private Network option?

    Yes, we used the wizard.

    OK, looks like a firewall issue; Which firewall are you using?
    On the default Windows FW, click the Exceptions TAB and enable Print/File sharing.

    The Windows firewall is turned off on both machines, because I believe the router has a firewall built in.
