VPU error

First off, welcome to TechSpot, second, I don't have that much experience dealing with VPU error's. For those types of error's are normally caused by ATI video card software. I've been a strict Nvidia only guy, so VPU error's, never had any!

But your question might gain greater traction if asked inside our "audio & video" section, I'm providing that areas link.

Good luck... :)

vpu recover

Thanks Zen for your quick reply.

I am stating what I got on my HP pavillion z8000 laptop's screen for everyone who can shed some light on it:

'VPU recover was unable to fully recover from a hardware deadlock, and has switched to software rendering. To restore hardware rendering, you must restart your computer. Do you want to . . ?"
I have done that but there was no change (the screen goes blank after some random colors are shown)

Is there an update I can download to fix it?

Thanks so much.
