thats exactly whats happening to me and my Radeon 9200SE, does your monitor randomly blackout for a few seconds sometimes as well then get the error message?

VPU Recover can be disabled in the Catalyst Control Center (I'm on a PC without a Radeon at the moment so I can't give exact directions). Disabling it may fix your problem; or at least for some VPU Recover has been known to cause more problems in some cases.
