  1. Well, I'm courious about the multiple partitions I have.

The Acer Aspire E1 571 avived with W 8 preinstalled. Went through the W8.1 update and the unit is patched up to date, all stable.

I have multiple recovery partitions, what do they each signify? If I revert to factory install, do I get W 8 or W8.1?

    Oh fun!!

Notice, the first three are 'smallish' (<400mb) and the fourth is sizable 15+gb.

    • The fourth is the real recovery data for the NTFS C:\
    • The second (noted as EFI system) is the true boot area for the secure boot technology (that's what I understand at least).
    • One or three contain device drivers ( I am told, but which one I'm uncertain ???)

If you do a Factory reinstall . Your system will go back to Win 8. You will need to update to win8.1. In other words If the computer was win 8 when you bought it . This what the system restore image will be.
