Hi, I am an experienced software developer residing in Singapore, Want to buy a branded laptop with high performance. Not prefer Mac book series.
I expect only performance others are all optional

    My criteria's are
    1) Budget: 2500 USD
    2) 15" screen
    3) Frequently used: Visual studio 2008, SQL server, Oracle, Photoshop, Flash, DVD Players
    4) preferred OS: XP Professional
    5) Screen resolution: 1280x768/800
    6) Stylishness and weight are not important.

    Any suggestions please.

I'd recommend the XPS M1730. Max out the RAM and get Windows XP and you should be good to go.

I have the 1710, the 1730 is an upgraded version. I'd suggest this laptop as well

    Hello,

I would suggest you the XPs range in Dell thats the best you can get for the budget that you have.

The price range varies but they are actually good.

    Regards
