WD HDD will not

my WD HDD only comes up as a microsoft office click-to-run 2010(Protected)

That will be because you have installed Microsoft Office Click to Run, it creates a drive labelled as Q: which is protected. What is it you want to do?

My HDD

now if i enter Disk Management its shown as disk one but it ask's me to initalize it and i cant afford to lose all the information i have on it. How can i get the information off of it?

You could try this: Ubuntu Live CD to back up files from your dead Windows

so this will get all my files back from my hdd, but i cant even get it open to see if its all there

it wont even show up under my computer the only place it will show up is under Disk MAnagment

If the Ubuntu disc won't give you access to the drive I have no idea what else to do. This is a prime example of the importance to make regular back ups.

May be some other helpers on this site will have some advice to offer.
