It lights up, whirs, and fails. Doesn't read on PC or Mac. Recently replaced, should work.

    Ayudame por favor.

What size is that one? I had one did the same. What I did was this...

Take a freezer lock bag and stick the WD into it with folded paper towel in put inside it.
    Lock the bag
Stick the bag into the freezer for 30 hours
    Once 30 hours have passed
Take it out and leave it in the bag until it reaches room temp
Now connect it to your PC
    It should now been seen.
Since then my WD still works with no issues and the clipping sound has gone too.

Note: Same method can be use on 3.5 HDD too just have to stick the folded paper towel on the circuit side in the freezer lock bag.
Tested both method on failing 2.5/3.5 HDD along with USB WD Passport. Works always.

    Good Luck!
