The only time I tend to revisit old games is when I fire up the Amiga, I usually have a blast on Turrican, Lotus Turbo Challenge, Outrun, Pinball Fantasies...

Mirror's Edge - I think it's an incredibly underrated game. It's beautiful and doesn't promote a bunch of senseless violence. You can go through the game without using a gun even once and the movement gives you a real sense of immersion. I've found myself ducking my head in real life when I was getting shot at in the game.

I struggle to finish single player games anymore as im such a multiplayer junkie so will usually be on something like the latest Battlefield game. I do however go back and play the odd game here and there..

Final Fantasy 7 / 9 / 12 - just so many fond memories from these games, they're timless classics in my eyes.

Total Annihilation / Supreme Commander 1 - in my opinion the best strategy games ever created, am yet to play one that comes close to being as good.

Raptor Call of the Shadows - this is pretty old school but still dead fun.. have it on my iphone to play on my commute

There's others here and there but I find that I don't have as much time for gaming between job/uni/gym/playing guitar etc etc.
  10. The original FarCry, epic for its time unlike the cross-platform diluted sequel.

I'm incredibly fond of "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night," as well as "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past." I have played both of these games countless times. I've played through StarCraft, Brood War, and Wings of Liberty multiple times. Many of the classic Gameboy games like Six Gold Coins, Super Mario Land, and Ninja Gaiden: Shadow I have played through many times as well. And let's not forget the original Donkey Kong Country for the SNES, as well as Super Mario World for that platform.

Most of my replays are for the sake of nostalgia from when I was younger, or because the story-line was so good, gameplay was so good, or because the story-line forked and I wanted to see all possible outcomes.
  12. Continuing to play Quake 4 multiplayer, fast & frantic game-play, there's no ceiling to how good you can become.

Oh would also like to add to my list Dante's Inferno on the PS3. Keep going back to it. Love the visuals/artistic direction of that game, and the gameplay is super fun (and a good challenge on hard mode too)

I don't know how many times I have replayed through Diablo 2. I can say without a doubt I have more hours logged on that game then any other game for the PC.
Why? Had a lot of friends that played it and I loved trying to always find better gear and get your guy decked out.

I have put in many hours on a lot of fighting games too. I don't know if I can call it replaying, as they are all vs matches :p. But several of the Street Fighters (Most Alpha 3 & and #4 for the PS3), Super Smash (64,GC & Wii), SNK vs Capcom 2, several of the Guilty Gear games(Mostly X & X2), several of the Naruto games, and most recently Skull Girls :p.
Why?Best friend and I like the "Street Fighter Style" fighting games (ei, not all pre-programed combos like the Mortal Kombats). You don't have to dump a lot of time in them, and are fun to play casually. Matches are quick so if you have more people than controllers its easy to cycle through everyone.

Also same story with shooting games. Played the hell out of Perfect Dark on the 64 back in the day. Also played co-op on Resistance 1 & 2 quite a bit. Really had fun with Red Faction #1, and being able to blow up almost everything :D. Never have been much of a Halo guy tho. Why these shooter games? For me so many shooters are the same game over and over, just different skins put on them. A shooter has to have something that really grabs me. Perfect Dark it was the Simulants in multiplier mode. You didn't just have to shoot your friends any more! Resistance was the fun weapons. And Red Faction #1 was the ability to blow up most of the environment.

Back on the PC I have played Sims1 & 3 a lot, SimCity 3000 & 4000, Civ 3,4&5, Sid Meier's Railroads, Railroad Tycoon 3, Age of Empires 2, and Age of Mythology. Again games that I don't know if you can say "Replayed" because for most there isn't really a story line to replay. But many hours spent on all of them.
Also used to be a WoW addict. :p.
As for my Why on the Sims games? I don't really know. I acutally have more fun building the houses and then playing in "Live" mode :p. SimCity, Railroads, & Railroad Tycoon - I like trying to make lost of money :p. Civ, AoE & AoM I like "Command & Conquer" Style games, and like conquering everyone else - which is much harder to do in the Civ games :p.
Wow was because I had a lot of friends playing it, then made new friends. I had loads of fun while playing with all my friends. Now they don't play so much and I got board.....

Return To Castle Wolfenstein is one game I've played through many times because of the story and mission structure. Other than that:

    1. Crysis (Mainly testing graphics and mods)
    2. Crysis Warhead
    3. Crysis 2
    4. Mirror's Edge
    5. Half Life 2
    6. Far Cry
    7. Oni
    8. Batman Arkham Asylum
    9. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 1 and 2

Planning a second round of Deus Ex Human Revolution, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl (Complete Mod), Batman Arkham City.
