How ACTA would affect you: FAQ If you thought SOPA and PIPA were bad, ACTA is in an entirely different league of its own. ACTA may not order a mass culling…

Is this shite ever going to end? Governments trying to control the internet for their own financial gains...

I'd rather die than let these greedy, capitalist nazis control the internet.

It will never end in the Monetary system while Big Corporations guide the puppets we call Government.

'Tis a sad, sad time to be a computer user :'(
  5. Yep, bankers controlling the governments want this, there's just too much free speech on the internet, and they finally got to the point where they will shut people up ;)
  6. That's ok, the entire monetary system may default any day now with the us about $85 trillion in debt and each european country in massive debt.

Where did you get the number $85trillion? According the usdebtclock.org it is ~$15.3 trillion

Something I find disturbing is that more money comes from the payroll tax than from corporate tax.

"ACTA stands for the "Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement"..."

    Counterfeit

    Counterfeit = Imitation =/= Copy

Let me introduce the people who invented this agreement to another word directly from the dictionary:

    FRAUD
  9. The internet is gonna be censored D:

  12. "ctrl+c will become illegal..."

    LOL best comment yet :)
  13. Note - US already signed treaty, however reading how Obama signed it only may actually not be legal since congress is the actually branch that must approve it.

You know what? We SHOULD censor the internet. here's why. This agreement, not a law, almost certainly will never ever affect anything you do. Yet, because of the internet we can read some headlines, draw our own conclusions use phrases like 'capitalist nazis' (oxymoron btw) and otherwise completely flip out for no reason.

What can you possibly do when something serious occurs? We may someday in our lifetimes witness a nuclear war between Israel and Iran and we won't be able to understand it because we've already used all the extreme words like 'completely destroyed' and 'crippled' to describe very minor stuff like this. If everything is so extreme, then nothing is.

So yeah... censor the internet, cause it's making you all dumb. THINK FOR YOURSELVES. Know who else has an agenda? Journalists looking for page clicks.

Want more proof? Google ACTA. First hit is from that reputable news source Aljazeera.com. and the 2nd hit is a story about the internet 'being awash in inaccurate anti-ACTA arguments'

Did you know there's a pitcher for the Cleveland Indians named Manny Acta? He made the first page hits.

The internet is the most free thing on the earth. It literally has unlimited potential. Why do we want to limit what users can do with it, is beyond me.
Im not saying piracy is good, but this "trade agreement" and laws like PIPA will be twisted and people will actually have to worry about what they do on the internet. It will make people less careless, but eventually will slow internet growth.

ever gone "exploring" on the internet? not like porno and piracy, but just random things. I came across a LOT of really cool stuff, including this site. things like this will only uninspire creativity.

People should care more about loving what they do (EX. music artists) than making tons of money.
