Welcome Screen/Shutdown Screen with no text?

  1. I mean as in it doesn't have "Loading" or anything, just blank, until the accounts appear. I used to have BootSkin installed which let you change the welcome screen, but once uninstalled it stays put, as in the skin of the welcome screen.
    Any Ideas?

EDIT: The program was called LogonStudio

    Start->Run-> SFC /SCANNOW
You will need your XP Home CD, data and Windows key and Service Packs, not affected

Doesn't have appeared to work.... Will try now, just in case!

    That's a worry :(

Next best option (that will work)
Microsoft's Windows XP Home Repair Install step by step
    http://www.windowsxphome.windowsreinstall.com/installxpcdrepair/part3.htm

The only issue with Repair is:
It will remove all Security updates and Service Packs to the same version of the Windows CD used
You will need to re-activated your key

    And that's the only disadvantages

On the plus side, it will fix the issue ;)

Hasn't worked, I have an idea though, will be back.

Done, well the skin part is, it is now in the original windows one.

I re-installed the program, and their was a reset button

    Very lucky

I have done this before too (who hasn't ;) )
But mine didn't have a "reset" button :(

    Thanks for the update :grinthumb

But, the text hasn't come back.... I have found another button though, "re-enable all window messages", which may work... will check now
