Wep Key

hi there

I want to connect my laptop to my brother's internet network wirelessly. He has a connected his laptop to a Livebox wirelessly. when I try to connect it asks me for a encription key. I enter it in Hex but it doesn't connect. in the advanced properties I see some Encryption type (WEP, WPA...) and I'm not sure what to choose.

Do you have any idea?.....

Have you tried using the USB flash drive option, where you load the network settings to the Flash Drive, then migrate, then enter the WEP key?
WEP is no longer considered nearly as safe as WPA. You will find plenty to read about them with a Google search.
It might be a lot easier to reinstall your brother's setup, then use the USB key method. You will find that is faster than tracking down the problem you have created.
