i just got my replacement 1TB Western Digital My Book Home Edition today and plugged it in and it isn't detecting the hardware. I've gone to WD's website and installed their Drive Manager and Firmware updates and it say's there's no drive plugged in. I've also downloaded the Quick Install Guide PDF but it has a password (which i think is bullsh|t support) and i cannot open it. Hopefully i can get some better support than Western Digital seems to offer.
Like i said, i got the thing in the mail today brand new. Everything powers on just fine but it won't detect on my PC. I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium 32-Bit.
If anyone has any suggestions or solutions to this matter, please leave a reply... I didn't spend a hundred dollars on this damn thing for it to not work at all... and to have sh|tty technical support from the manufacturer.
