this is my first post and i don't know too much about computers so if everyone could keep their responses simple i would REALLY love the help. So i have an old lap top i dug out for a friend of mine and i was hoping to get it running and cleaned up so she could use it. It is a compaq presario 700 running on windows xp. I have all the original disks it came with so i decided to try running the Quickrestore discs and everything seemed to be going fine. There are three disks and halfway through disk two the progress bar displayed that it was about hallway done with the whole procedure. Then it looked the computer just randomly restarted itself and now it does nothing. All it does is display "operating system not found" at the top of the screen and it won't run the rest of the quickstart CD rom set. Help would be greatly appreciated!
