I still play it occasionally. Still able to beat it both ways (warping and no warps). Although it helps immensely if you can get to 8-3 without being small.

First addictive game was probably Maze Craze for the Atari 2600, I stared at that flashing screen for hours.

First computer games were definitely HERO QUEST 1 So you want to be a Hero? And of course NetHack and EGATrek awsome games that I STILL play...

I do remember trying to get past screen 4 of Manic Miner by Bug byte on the Spectrum 48k, I couldn't leave that alone.
On the Amiga A500, R-Type, and the PC, EA Sports F1 2002, and Simbin's Race 07, (now I'll have to have another go...Race 07 WTCC still so good if you like driving games.)

Everquest was probably the game-over title. There were a few other notables prior though...
    Load Runner
    Kings Quest
    Quest for Glory
    Heart of Darkness
    ... A few I can't remember atm

First I had a console that I would connect to my TV. It was called Terminator 2.
I had a lot of nice games on that console: Marios, Bomberman, Pac-Man and something with Tanks. I got hooked on games because of that console.
The first PC game that hooked me was Wolfenstein 3D.
Other games that made sure I wouldn't let go were Age of Empires 1 and Half Life 1.
    Those were nice games.

Super Mario. The original was the first game I really played and very much enjoyed. Many years later I played the original Quake and after that I was super hooked on games. Quake 2 for PC was the first game that I ever owned and I went nuts on MSN gaming zone. Dominated on the railz mod and co-operated the Quake 2 division of AoHx clan. Good times :)

The first game I remember getting hooked on was Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on the Sega Genesis. I'd play it any chance I got (though being 5 years old when I started, I didn't progress past the Chemical Plant zone ;))

Probably the biggest gaming event in my life was playing Halo: CE on the original Xbox. I still play it to this day (online through XBC), and have met some great friends through the years by playing this game.

Can't remember far enough back to when I didn't play video games, started out with DOS, Prince of Persia, Frogger, and some Racing game I can't remember the name of. Then came Win95 with Worms 2 and my first go at the Need for Speed series which got me hooked on racing games for a while. My best memory would have to be Starcraft however, got the Starcraft battlechest for my 9th birthday and played that for years before moving from a P1 to a P4 and getting in to FPS games the likes of CS and UT2K3.

Oh man, what game got me hooked?
I'd have to say Duke Nukem 3D....now it wasn't the first game I ever played, but it was what got me really hooked.
I remember they included a level editor with an absolutely cryptic manual.
I found a bible-sized third party manual eventually which really helped me make levels.
It was neat learning the tricks they did, like stairs were just teleporters to different areas because the engine didn't support 2 stories or more in a building.
Ah the sprite based fun I had!

Actually that's what got me hooked on messing with games, not really gaming itself I suppose, though the game itself was great for me as a child.

Well I gotta say that it's either Ultima Online...man that game was like a new world in an age of no MMORPGs...well besides AOLs neverwinter but it never reached the success of UO.

    UO hooked me on mmorpgs...
Goldeneye for the 64 hooked me on competitive shooters.
Halo took it to a new level, halo 1 that is with 2 xboxes and 2 tvs and 7 other friends....Man the nights we had it was amazing.
It was like all of a sudden you could use surprise because the enemy was on another tv instead of yours.
And let's not forget the Sega games my neighbor had.
Anyone whose played toejam and earl...man that game was a trip. Road rash was awesome, the Mortal Kombats of course, Sonic, so many classics...
WWF Royal Rumble was the one we played most though. Good times...

    Switching the to PC....
I also played CS at one point religiously, my cousin got really really good and it pushed me to reach his skill. I never came close though lol.

PC games had their own hook on my young life.
Games like The Incredible Machine were simply amazing to me. It was definitely a brain workout.
Lemmings was pretty awesome too I saw that listed earlier.
Also the Indian Jones Holy Grail game from lucasarts was awesome.

Currently I'm hooked in LoL...it's free and very high quality with a lot of depth.

Anyways, a bit of a rant, thought I'd share.

The six earliest games I can recall playing, but not the order of which I played, all happened to be PC games; Age of Empires, Dungeon Keeper 2, Carmageddon, Crash Bandicoot, Doom and Harry Potter & the Philosipher's Stone, each of these games has gone on to represent the genres that now entice me:
    Driving
    Adventure
    RTS/RTT
    FPS
I remember playing each of them around 4 yearss old? Some a bit later.

Late bloomer here. It was either Command and Conquer, or this wicked awesome game called Rune. Anyone know it?
