For several months or more, I've used https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/?src=cb-dl-users on my browser FF & SeaMonkey & had no problems watching these programs commercial free. Now I realize they use ad revenue to pay bills......but..... http://www.cbs.com/shows/ncis/video/ & http://www.cbs.com/shows/ncis_los_angeles/video/ & others at http://www.cbs.com/
till yesterday when I got this
AdBlock plus.JPG
I've had to disable Adblock to watch the episode(s) but just wondering???
"EDIT" Even with an Adblocker installed on Opera,I'm able to view the episodes with ads :(

This happens on some sites. Odd why it says ad blocker not pop up blocker. Try updating the filter lists.

It says Adblocker because it blocks the ads I'd normally see on websites.
And it normally blocks the commercials in the programs I watch on cbs.
I've updated both the addon & the filers in Firefox & no change.
Ditto with SeaMonkey.
I guess I'll just have to get used to it, thanks.

I've installed FF portable version with out adblock till I try your idea, thank you.
I was thinking about doing what you suggest but would that block ALL ads or just the ones I've seen? Just curious & learnin :)

Well, I'm happy to say it is working again as it was previously. Maybe the newer version of Firefox or ??? I don't know. Just glad its working. Thanks to those who gave input. :)

You can change your HOST so ads don't appear. Might slow down the PC though. Spyware Blaster can also be use on the major browsers now. Ad Block there is so many versions of this. You can try out others that don't have issues. If your on Chrome you might want to try Blocker

I know I have a hosts thingy on this pc,but not that familiar with it . I do have SpywareBlaster on here.
I don't have Google Chrome on here yet because I don't want this to happen
to it. Since its working ok now, I'm happy. Thanks for your input.

This is BS now. Even removing adblock plus won't let me watch this http://www.cbs.com/shows/ncis-new-orleans/video/
I was able to watch other programs at cbs.com yesterday with stoopid commercials, but now even after removing the addon I still can't, damn
"EDIT" removed it from SeaMonkey & Google Chrome, NOT Firefox.
"EDIT" Well it sucks, but I ended up installing Safari with no adblock & it works :( :)

Being cautiously optimistic, I think I've solved my problem. I dumped adblock plus, reset Firefox on both laptop & W7, re installed adblock plus on both & for now, I'm able to watch the cbs programs I watch with no ads. If that changes down the road, I won't be updating this thread. Thanks for your help & patience. :)

Oddly enough adblock plus has a facebook page &I went there & started ranting (B!Tching) about the ads a week or so ago. I just now got a response from them apologizing & asking me where I saw ads at. I told them where & am waiting their response.

Wish I could help, but I'm not having issues. Nor have I had issues with ABP.
My only response is I used to be able to watch my tv shows at www.cbs.com with NO ads. Now I'm forced to disable adblock plus & put up with redundant repititive ads making a 43 minute show into a 60 minute show with bs ads.
However, I was able to install the portable version of FF with abp on it & enjoy a couple shows but that too was short lived.:mad::)

An adblock will basically disable the ad's on the websites but some sites will only allow you to enter the site when you disable the adblocker to enter the page...
Using adblockerb will make website admins get less money :(:(:D

Kindly tell me how a website will make less $$$ with ads blocked?

Using adblocker will reduce the revenue of an website.which is bad.
I don't see how that can be true. From 2002 till a few months back, I NEVER saw ads on the websites I went to, now I do. Read someplace where adblock plus was going to allow ads to pay for its free addon.

Many adsence company will pay a website based on the number of views to number of clicks on the ad' . when we a use ad blocker there will be no ad's to view or click.so the revenue will go down.
