    what would happen if i used my 7600gt with my 8800Gts in SLI could someone explain what would happen?

    It just wouldn't work, the drivers don't support it.

    you need two identical cards to run SLI. they have to be the same brand, model, revision, and firmware version.

    1. best case - it won't work
    2. worst case - you fry your system.

    In any case, it won't work - due to firmware, hardware, and driver differences.
