Thanks for the offer, but I'm too bz with my work and I'm getting ready for something BIG in my life right now ;)

Currently a high school student I think I would like Tech support more. The opportunity to help others and bring about quality support and create a caring environment ohh who am I kidding I would set up a CS server on the domain and never do any work

(Worked as an Intern at a respectable place (doing surface mounts) and didn't see any work actually being done but did meet the leader of www.boisegamers.com)

Getting married ?? Don't do it man...or did I mean to say Good Luck ?

If that is not it, what you gonna do, if I may ask ?

Cool.. HOw did the interview go and how long did it last? Did they give you a test in the interview as well?

A 30-min phone interview. I'm not sure if it was a test :D

spoke about this thread with a couple of freinds, and we decided to do a search for tweaker and tinkerer on various job sites....

    The Results:

    ........nothing.

Damn, I was sure my ideal job was out there. Will have to settle for Training/support for now.... :(

BTW did the travelling thing for a while and the money runs out eventually.....

    Cheers,

Heh... That bad huh? Most of the jobs available in my country nowadays require at LEAST 3 years of experience and with some sort of certification. Not sure whether it's the same thing in other parts of the world; but certification means a whole lot to employers here even though there are TONNES of braindump sites around....

yeah, its increasingly like that in the UK too, although the old adage still works.... " It aint what you know its who you know that matters"

It has certainly worked for me over the years....

    Cheers,

Very true. Unfortunately, this hasn't been much help of late since those that you know may have a situation of their own due to the poor economy.

Somehow they say that the economy is getting better... But I doubt it'll pick up again that fast. :(

to be honest I have noticed an upturn. I'm freelance but work as part of a cooperative, and have been quiet since the turn of the year. In the last couple of weeks there has been a lot more work about, this last week I've had offers for 3 different contracts, so it looks like i'll be busy for the rest of the year:D , not sure I want to be though:( .

I just can't help feeling that with spring in the air, all the trees starting to bud, flowers in bloom, lambs gambling in the fields..... that I can be optimistic about the future (and my credit cards are gonna get paid off!).
