What's eating my memory?

As soon as the machine reaches Windows XP SP2 the task manager shows that 1gb of RAM is being used. I have another 1524MB as Virtual Memory.

I added up all the memory that shows in the task manager and counted about 300 MB. I don`t know whats eating up my memory.

The computer is not slow, but this is not normal. I know that when the computer reaches windows desktop, the memory should be around 300MB (it depends of course).

I have the program TuneUp Utilities 2009. Its showing that 52% of my memory is being used.
I also have pretty much all the Systernal utilities.

    Please advise.
