When i watch DVDs the screen is pixelated and i don't know how to fix that

when i play DVDs on powerDVD, realplayer etc, the movie screen turns pixelated and the graphics are all messed up. this only started recently after my computer crashed multiple times. does anyone know what's causing this?

Have you tried changing your graphics card drivers? I know with my Radeon different catalyst drivers seem to affect WinDVD playback.
