Is it showing up in MY Computer?
    Also look in

    click on start
    click on run
    type: compmgnt.msc
scroll down to Disk Mgmt Your CD Burner should be there.

Try Device Manager and see if it's listed under CD/DVD drives, right click on the top of the list where your computer name is and click on scan for new hardware..

If not then reboot the System and go into your BIOS and see if it detected your CD or DVD Burner. Start there if it doesn't then?

    1. Loss connection
    2. No power going to the Burner
    3. Ribbon Cable not connected
    4. Bad Laser or Defective Unit
    5. Run CD/DVD Cleaner Disc (mostly tiny brushes)
