Where to go for this kind of software problem

Hi -
I have trouble with reading any Microsoft Word document. I get this one dialog up over and over. Sometimes it locks up the machine, but I cannot save any files.

The message in the dialog is "The Visual Basic environment could not be initialized."

I attach a file with the dialog.

Windows XP, HP Media Center PC

Many thanks for advice on how to proceed.
