    Hi all,

    Upgrading to a 7850 2gb card from my 4870 1gb

Firstly how big a performance/power usage/temperature difference should I see?
Temps are a big worry as my 4870 idles at 50 :( is it just a bad card?

Secondly which make should I get?

I was thinking of the MSI 7850 2gb Twin Frozr II, any good?

    Thanks

Sounds like you need to get an air compressor or something and get all that dust out probably. I would get the xfx if you want to spend a little extra money for more clock speed but other than that the msi is a great card.

Well I hear the 7850 has a great overclocking potential and the MSI runs cooler and quieter due to its fan design

As Irsoldier said, It would probably use a good cleaning as well as some new thermal paste. This will probably drop your idle temps down a decent amount.

Well, that sounds like the one to get right? Especially if you're interested in overclocking your card. It only makes sense to purchase the one with better cooling.
