That might be so, but their Real Power Pro PSUs are right up there with others like Antec and Corsair. JonnyGURU consistently rates the PSUs from this range as being among the best.

Regrettably, I'm stuck to the one supplier (MSY), and they only stock SHAW, Thermaltake, Gigabyte, Coolermaster, Super Flower (???), Topower, Antec, Huntec, Seasonic.

So does anyone have any good suggestions for the above brands, around the below $100AU mark like the CM I suggested?

Antec and Seasonic are the best brands out of those. See if you can find the Antec Earthwatts EA500. It provides 34A on the +12V rails combined, which is more than enough for your specs.

    Terrorism: at Home and Abroad.......!

Who did the artwork for MSY's website, Osama Bin Laden?

Antec's customer service is great! The EA-500 looks good to me too.

Antec replaced a failed "Smartpower 350)" with a brand new Earthywatts EA-380, no questions asked.

Coolermaster still hasn't sent me a fifty cent plastic foot for a case I purchased in January 2008, in spite of 3 phone calls to customer service. To a named CS representative at that!
Nor have they bothered to cut a rebate check for the same case which I mailed Feb 6, 2008. I have proof of mailing on that.
Newegg is currently working on that for me.

So, unless "JonnyGURU" is planning to take up the slack for Coolermaster's support, I'd go with the Antec.

The usual disclaimer: That only matters if you need customer support. You could go through live blissfully ignorant of any of this, assuming nothing goes wrong. Hey, and it might not, right?

Heh yeah the MSY website...and store...aren't particularly flashy. But hey, who cares really :p

And I'm not too concerned with customer service... Either way its a tossup between CM 550W Extreme and Antec EA 500W. Though leaning towards the CM still. Anything better about the Anetc compared to it? Just better reliability?

Hmm seems I can run games (well only tried ones with the Source engine) windowed at 800 x 600...does this have to do with the PSU or something else?

Actually, I was unable to determine what they carried, only what was on sale. This was all wrapped up in what looked like a cut and paste ransom note.

Between a Coolermaster PSU and living in Austrailia, I'd advise against being too concerned with customer service, you'd only upset your self anyway.

This link was provided by zenosincks; http://www.tweaktown.com/cat/visual/ . It has a comprehensive listing of PSUs, complete with a system power consumption wattage, which would help any curious individual determine the wattage of PSU which would be right for them.

This page has about a dozen scripts running on it. If you want peace and quiet, you'll visit it with Firefox, with "Noscript" installed.

Got a Antec NeoPower 550W. Thanks for all your suggestions!

Though, the problem still persists...sigh. Got a new stick of RAM too, replaced that with the other one, still the problems there. Wonder what it could be now :(

Okay Decka, now you are back out of cloud cuckoo land and you're no longer wasting money replacing perfectly good components, you are probably ready to try isolating the problem.

I suggest you re-submit your query regarding the problem you are getting according to these guidelines, paying particular attention to the example post

note that this does require you taking some time to search the internet and the forums for ideas on how to isolate/resolve the problem you posted in your other thread and carrying those out, in order to be able to fill out the part called 'things I've tried'. Of course, you can already enter that you've replaced the RAM and PSU ;)

Once you've done this, return to your two existing threads and update them with a link to your new thread.

    Okay well new thread posted.

Btw, the RAM wasn't purchased to fix the problem, just wanted 2GB of it :p Though I DID check with the new stick to see if the other one was faulty, and it wasn't. New PSU...well I guess it was, but to be safe I probably should've gotten a new PSU anyway.
